10A SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2021 PRESS SUN-BULLETIN In Memoriam BOULDER, CO Richard Holmberg is nowwith his Lord and Savior.He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving Family on the 14th of November of complications frommultiple strokes suffered in January of this year. Dick was born in Bay onAugust 8, 1938. Dick graduated with an Electrical Engi- neering degree from Clarkson University. He had countless friends as an ROTC cadet and a brother in the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He played for the Clarkson Golden Knights Ice Hockey Team and Captained the Lacrosse team.

Dick served five (5) years as a US Army aviator. He flew in the Viet Nam war and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor in Combat and was awarded the Air Medal seven (7) times. After his military service Dick joined IBMCorp. as a sales representative, earning the Club and Golden Circle recognition often. He moved his family from Vestal, NY to Boulder, CO in 1986 to join the IBM Printer Products Briefing Center team.

Dick retired from IBM in 1993. He lived a life full of purpose. He was a dedicated youth leader in his community. He spent several summers guiding Boy Scouts through the Adirondack mountain lakes by canoe. Dick was an early leader of youth ice hockey in upstate NewYork, coaching several house and travel teams as well as leading hisVestal High School club hockey team to four consecutive championships.

Dick helped to found the Broome County High School Ice Hockey Organization and the amateur ice hockey officials organization of the Southern Tier of NY. Dick officiated for the Eastern College Athletic Association refereeing many Cornell University ice hockey games at Lynah Rink and skated as a Linesman for the North American Hockey League in the Broome County Memorial Arena. He was an avid bicyclist and rode his bicycle several thousandmiles a year in Colorado.Most recently with the S.O.B.s (Seniors on Bikes), an amazing group of caring and fun athletes. He rode 30 plus miles the day before his stroke. Dick was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving recently as aWebelos Boy Scout Leader and as an home teacher.

As a member of the Boulder Rifle Club he taught gun safety and other courses through his NRA instructor certifications. Dick was always quick with a smile and a sincere offer to help. He would stop to fix flat tires, broken chains and any othermishap riders encountered. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Corinne Barbara Lind- stromHolmberg. His children and their families include Richard andHelen Holmberg and their daughters Christine and Jason Mowry and their sonsMaxwell andMitchell.

Karen and Jason Bristow and their children Braidyn and Adam.He was predeceased by his parents, John Eric and LillianWalker Holmberg, his brother John Eric Holmberg, III and a son Gregory Lars Holmberg. The family is receiving visitors at the Crist Funeral home in Boulder De- cember 1st from 1-3pm. Richard Holmberg ENDICOTT Darrell Stone (aged 95) of Endicott, NY, passed away in his sleep at his home of over 65 years on 14 November 2021.

Predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Caroline (Casort) Stone, and his identical twin brother, Earl Stone, he is survived by his daughter, Mary Jane Stone-Bush and husband Wayne Bush (Philadel- phia), his sonDavid Stone and wife Donna June of Endicott, and niece Janet StoneMcGuigan.Darrell was proud of his four grandchildren: Christopher Stone-Bush and wife Tomoko Onishi of Osaka, Japan; Sara Stone-Bush and wife Alex Lauze of Collingdale, PA; Stephen Stone-Bush of Philadelphia; and Jillian Stone and partner TimWentworth of Prospect evenmore proud to have three great-granddaughters: Maya Oneshi Stone-Bush, Rain Lauze Stone-Bush and Remi Stone-Wentworth. Darrell, raised with his twin, Earl, in East Homer, NY, was a professional civil engineer. He and his brother served in the Navy at the end of WWII, and then, after graduating from Clarkson College, Darrell went on to serve in theArmy Corps of Engineers, with which he and wife Caroline (a Kansas native) lived near Nancy, France after their marriage. Coming to Endicott in the to work for Endicott-Johnson he spent the rest of his long and successful career with the Broome Country DPW, ending his service as a Deputy Commissioner. After retirement, which included working as a licensed land surveyor, and eventually as an Assistant Stage Manager at the Anderson Center with now Binghamton University, Darrell and Caroline enjoyed square and round dancing, as well as trips to Italy, Spain and Ireland.He once said, if he knew how busy retirement was, he would have continued working.

He was amember of St. Episcopal Church, Endicott, where Caroline served as organist for over 35 years, and was involved with their vestry and other committees throughout his life. Amemorial service for family and friends is scheduled for 11:00 am, Satur- 4th, at St 200 JeffersonAve, Endicott (calling hours at the church from 10 to 11 private graveside services at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to donate in name to their favorite service-oriented charity. Darrell Stone CONKLIN, NY Jed Woodruff, 61, died peace- fully at his home on November 25, 2021, sur- rounded by his loving family.

Jed leaves behind his devoted wife of almost 20 years, Judy Lewis; his son, Sean (Tulsa) Fuller; granddaughter, Ne- vaehAldrich; sisters, Pam (Don) Conrad and Judy (Dick)Winslow; brothers, Jim (Donna)Woodruff, Tim (Caroline) Woodruff, Ted Woodruff (Karen Laurinaitis), Ned (Betty)Woodruff, Elwood (Su- zanne) Brotzman; step (Ron Jr.) Long; step Long, and Hannah Long; sisters-in-law, Alberta (Don) Barriger; (Karen) Barriger, and Tom Jennings; many nieces and nephews; and his cherished companion dog, Charlie. He is the son of the late Ervin and June Kithcart Woodruff and was also predeceased by his Crumb; a step Lewis and a Jennings. Jed worked at DodgeMarkham in Conklin for over 30 years. He loved old cars, especially his Elcamino with which he won several trophies. Jed especially enjoyed hanging out at the auto shop of his brother and best friend, Ned Woodruff.

Dimmick, age 74 of Painted Post, NY passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Corning Hospital. Born on December 16, 1946 in Johnson City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Jo- sephine (Lukac) Bohu- nicky.

Francine married David Dimmick on November 12, 1966 in Johnson City. In her early years Francine taught preschool in various schools throughout the states. She also worked as a librarian for a time. After moving to the Corning area, she worked as an administrative assistant for the Bath VA for 13 years before her retirement in 2008. Francine was a woman of strong faith and was a longtime member of St.

Catholic Church in Corning. In her free time she enjoyed traveling having visited 42 states and many national parks and monuments. She and her family spent time living in Germany, Netherlands and Alaska which was her favorite. When she traveling with her family, Francine had a love for fishing, reading and knitting. She was a member of the Iditarod Bootie Brigade which knit booties for the dogs running in the Iditarod.

Francine is survived by her loving husband, David Dimmick of Painted Post, NY; children: LisaMarie (Jay) Johnson of Anchorage, AK, Marijo Dimmick of Herndon, VA, David Matthew Dim- mick of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Ian Dim- mick-Johnson, Kyle Johnson and Johnathon David Dimmick; sister, Rosemarie (Walter) Kowaliw of East Swanzey, NH; and several nieces and cousins. In addition to her parents, Francine was prede- ceased by her grandson, Eric Michael Dimmick. Services will be held at a date and a time to be announced. Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney Corning has been entrusted with the arrange- ments.
