Brunick of Nebraska, were married in St. Thomas Aquinas parochial residence by the Rev. Dennis Lyons at 6 o'clock Saturday night. The bride rust colored crepe gown with harmonizing accessories and a shoulder bouquet of roses and lilies-of-thevalley. Miss Mildred Gerchman, sister of the ride, was maid of honor.

She wore a green silk crepe dressa with matching accessories a shoulder bouquet of talisman roses. Albert Brunick, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents following the ceremony. Roses and cosmos adorned the GERCHMAN, daughter of bride's table centered with a tiered wedding cake. Mr.

Reynolds were elected alternates. Miss Mary G. Congdon spoke on "Books." She displayed maa terials showing the steps in the making of a book, from the written manuscript to the finished volume. Speaking of the different types of books Miss Congdon said, "The classics are not old because they are good. Great writers may bend and break us but we must read on.

The story of the making of a book is a fascinating one as we trace it from the early records and clay tablets to the finished volume of today. A good novel should be life's interpreter for us and make our lives more endurable. The novel," she added, "should not be approved because emotion, nor disapproved because of its new ideas. When a man finds a book, he finds a friend, he is enriched during all his life. Books are written ideas conveyed by one person to others." Mrs.

C. F. Hotchkin reviewed Harry A. Franck's "A Scandinavian She stated that the author had commented the extreme cleanliness of the food on the ship which he traveled to Denmark. He found bicycles were predominant in Denmark and have the right of way, automobiles having to turn out for them.

The Lutheran church, the author stated, is the established church of Denmark. Mr. Franck flew by hydromonoplane to Finland. He found that county rather inferior to Sweden and Denmark, although the streets were filled with expensive cars. In Finland, though tipping is not supposed to be practiced, Mr.

Franck tried a good sized tip and the recipient knew what it was. Mrs. Hotchkin added that in the book the author alluded to the prevalence of lakes and islands In Finland, every well regulated family having a motor boat. In southern Sweden, the author found the people to be aristocratic, some of the families considering themselves better than the king. The author found Iceland so modern that it was a great disappointment to him, Mrs.
