William McGuire experienced that reality on July 14, 2006, when at the age of 101 years, he passed from this into eternity, a man "justified by faith" in the finished work of Christ. The eldest son of William A.

McGuire and Bessie (Kinney) McGuire, William Ambrose McGuire Jr. was born of Irish roots in Smithflats, N.J. on May 14, 1905. Most of his years were vital and productive. He was a life-long student, analyzing everything.

He particularly loved his Bible, teaching adult Sunday school classes for many years, into his 90's. He was a servant of God. He held various offices at his church of membership, Grace Baptist, Binghamton, N.Y., including Sunday school superintendent. Together with his wife, Amy, William cared deeply about his family, offering home and help to family and friends. Bill loved the challenge of figuring out how to "fix" almost anything, even, on one occasion, helping his grandson exchange the Ford engine in a "jalopy" for Chevy engine, creating parts as needed.

Dad was a Chevy man! As a young man he built the home he shared with his family for over 65 years.
