Gaffney, 73, of Johnson City, died Sunday evening, July 10, 2005, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He is survived by two daughters, Sally Schaefer, Ocala, Loreena Townsend, Harpursville; one son, Richard; several grandchildren; one special niece and caregiver, Patricia Mikalajunas and Joe Mikalajunas, Johnson City; also several other nieces and nephews.

He was a former employee of Roger's Trucking Company, an army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the First Ward American Legion Post 1254. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Sedlock Funeral Home, 161 Clinton Binghamton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30 a.m.

Buddy" Bayer, 57, of Endicott, died Saturday, July 9, 2005, at the Samaritan Medical Center emergency department. Mr. Bayer was born December 30, 1947 in Endicott, a son of Charles A. and Olga Hubbel Bayer, Sr. He attended Endicott schools and married Rose Ziemba October 11, 1969.

Mr. Bayer was an iron worker for Endicott Forging and Manufacturing. Besides his mother and wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer M. Bayer, Apala-, chin, N.Y.; two brothers, Philip' M. and David both of Endicott; several nieces and nephews; his dog, Trixie; and many friends at Martins Marina, Three Mile Bay, Cape Vincent, N.Y.

A Remembrance of his Life will be held Saturday, July 16, 2005, at the American Legion Post 1700, 305 Maple Street, Endicott, his family will receive friends between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Contributions may be made to the "American Heart Association. Nichols ofOshkosh Ronin X. Nichols, seven month old son of Michael and Michele (Lowe) Nichols, of Oshkosh, passed away Monday, June 6, 2005, at his residence. Ronin was born on October 26, 2004 in Oshkosh. Survivors include his parents; one brother, Michael Nichols Oshkosh; one sister, Tracei Lowe, Maine; his grand- Sarents, Thomas and Kathleen lichols, Whitney Point, N.Y., Robert and Eleanor Lowe, Maine, N.Y.; and great-grandparents, Robert and Marion McMahon, Whitney Point, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2005, at 10 a.m.

Parsons Funeral Home, Inc. Mary Schmidt Ruh Scoville April 22, 1920 July 12, 2005 Mary Ruh Scoville, 85, passed away on July 12, 2005 after a brief illness. Mary is survived by a family who loved her deeply. The family includes two daughters, one by birth, both by love, Cynthia Ruh Finn and her hus-' band, Joseph, her two sons, Eric Van Vliet and Brian (Shannon) Van Vliet, all of Raleigh, N.C, Sandra Van Vliet Ruh and her children, Sheila DeBoer, Peggy Ruh, Matthew Ruh and Ryan Ruh, all of Florida. She was blessed by three greatgrandchildren, who she loved dearly.

She leaves a beloved brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Shirley Schmidt, as well as another dear sister-in-law, Evelyn Schmidt. Mary had many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all who were special in their own way. It was Mary's wish to specifically mention two nieces, Linda Shea and Meta Misty Parks. She is also survived by Robert Scoville, N.C. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Charles F.

Ruh, in 1961; and her only son, Richard C. Ruh, in 1998. She was also predeceased by her parents, George and May Schmidt; brothers and sisters, Gertrude Schmidt, George Schmidt, Belvin Schmidt, and Myfanwy Kannenberg. Mary was proud to be an Endicott native. She graduated from Union-Endicott High School, where she was a member of the first all-girl band.

Mary was a homemaker most of her life and right up to the end was happiest in her own home doing the daily crossword puzzle. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Endicott VFW and American Legion Post 89, Vestal, and was a life member of Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, Endicott The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospice Program, especially Kim and Lynne. Funeral and Interment Services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Mary Snierek of Johnson City Mary Snierek, 82, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2005, at her home. She was prede ceased by her husband, Paul Smerek in 1981.

She is survived by a niece, Mary Serbonich, Binghamton; six great-nieces and nephews, Michael A. Marusich, Simpsonville, S.C.; her caregivers, Linda and Kevin Petrosky, Endicott, Tamara and Mark Mc Evoy, Cumming, Ga Karen and Joseph Connelly, Endicott, Kathy and Mario Brunori, Owego, and Gerald and Mary Serbonich, Endicott; and 11 great-great-nieces and nephews. Mary moved to Binghamton in the 1930's to take care of her nephews and nieces, John, Michael, Helen and Mary Marusich. She was a member of St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church and it's ladies guild.

She was a former employee of the Vulcan Company, Johnson City and a retired employee of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, crocheting and especially her great great-nieces and nephews. A Divine Liturgy and Funeral Service will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter James Dutko on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St.

Michael's Greek Catholic Church, 292 Clinton Street, Binghamton. Rev. Dutko will conduct a prayer service Thursday 7 p.m. at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street Binghamton where the family will receive friends Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider contributions in Mary's memory to either her church, cemetery or to the charity of one's choice.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Maurice J. Fitzgerald; her parents, Anna and Louis Wass; and her brother, Lou. She is survived by her children, Robert and Sue Fitzgerald, Joanne and Walter (Buddy) Allen, Maureen and John Ellis; also her grandchildren, Michael P. Fitzgerald, Scott and Stephanie Allen, Megan and Jim Mercer, Kevin and Kirn Fitzgerald, Matthew and Ryan Ellis. Helen also leaves behind her greatgrandchildren, Carley and Zach-ary Fitzgerald, Erica, Alyssa, and Samantha Allen, Kevin, Bryan, and Grace Mercer and Rocco Fitzgerald; one brother and sister-in-law, Rudy and Mary Waas, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Dawn Fitzgerald, Marion and Cary Leonard, Jane and Dick Sutton and Dorothy Hayes! Helen was a long standing member of St.

Patrick's Church, Binghamton, and the Saint John Vianney Club. She was a past president of Catholic Daughters of America, Court Binghamton 237. Helen was a graduate of Stroudsburgh State Teachers College and Cortland State Teachers College. Her teaching career spanned 40 years. She was the first lay teacher at St.

Patrick's Academy. She also taught at St. James and St. Paul's schools and finished her final 20 years of teaching at the John Harshaw School in the Chenango Forks School District. Helen will be remembered for her love of family and church.

Her love of life was a gift passed on to those who knew her. The summers at the Jersey shore, the excitement of watching a good horse race at Saratoga, making a milk shake at the sweet shop at Lourdes Hospital as a volunteer, surprising children with her crown of candles for St. Lucia Day, these were some of the examples of a life well lived. We will always be thankful for the examples of generosity that she continually showed to all of us. We would like to thank her caregivers at Good Shepard Fair-view Home for the kindness they showed to Helen.

Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Binghamton, Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered.

John A. Kucinskas of Binghamton John A. Kucinskas, 93, of Binghamton, passed from this life into eternal rest with God on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Adelaide Ruth; one brother and one sister, residing overseas; one nephew and his wife, Gary and Cathy Schiffer, Homer, N.Y. John was a veteran of WWII and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 1645.

He worked as an upholsterer for Krohler's Manufacturing Furniture Co. for 42 years. He was an avid walker at Otseningo Park who enjoyed feeding squirrels, birds, and chipmunks. He was a kind man who loved his family. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2005, at 1 1:00 a.m.

(Eddie) Davis of Endicott Edwin B. (Eddie) Davis, 81, of Endicott, went to heaven on July 13, 2005, from Susquehanna Nursing Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 30, 1923 and was predeceased by his loving parents, Lawrence and Ada Davis; brothers, Glenn, Louis, Lawrence, Raymond and Charles; a sister, Doralyn Gaskill; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mildred and Paul Balles; sisters-in-law, Gail Balles, Frances, Mildred, Harriet and Florence Davis; brother-in-law, James Balles; nephew, Glenn Davis, and two very special nephews, Louis and Paulie Iannone. He is survived by his devoted, caring and loving wife of 57, years Betty (Balles) Davis; his four children and spouses, Sherry and Gregory Holland, Olean, N.Y., Randy and Melanie Davis, Largo, Lori and Francis Martin, Port Crane and Tracy Davis (Masucci), Endicott; his precious grandchildren, Joseph and Sara Holland, Eric and Carrie Davis, Jeremy Davis, Emily and Michael Sasser, Matthew and Chris Timm, T.J. Yundt, Christopher and Gina Martin, Holly, Heidi and Vincent Masucci; one great-grandson, Fisher Edwin Davis; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Norman Davis and Robert and Claire Davis; in-laws, Paul Balles, Patricia and Donald Herbaugh, Yvonne and Michael Iannone, Joyce Balles, Nora Davis and Richard Gaskill; also several special nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the Philippines with the US Army and had many interesting stories that he enjoyed sharing with his family. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott. He was a retired employee of IBM, Owego, retiring after 33 years of service and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. At IBM he worked as an inspector and helped with the space program that put the first man on the moon and took part in the very first space shuttle to launch and was present when it took flight. He enjoyed bowling, polka and square dancing with his special friends.

He enjoyed his "breakfast bunch," the Barnum's, Malarkey's, Novicky's; and his wonderful neighbors, the Reardon's. A special thank you to Sylvia, June and Carla and also much appreciation to the caring 2nd floor staff of Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, whose loving care was greatly appreciated by Edwin and his family, for the past two years. He will be missed with all of our hearts, but we will always have such wonderful memories of such a wonderful man, husband and father. Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:30 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, End well at 10 a.m.

13901. Barbara Drummond Barbara Drummond, 75, of Florence Street, Waverly, N.Y., passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, July 13, 2005. Bora August 21, 1929 in Corning, N.Y., the daughter of the Late Jennie Gates Cox and John B. Cox and wife of the Late Rudolph Drummond. Her brother, Robert Cox also predeceased Barbara.

Barbara worked at Harding Inc. in Elmira, N.Y. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Waverly. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who loved being a homemaker and gardening. She will be missed by all.

Surviving Barbara are her sons, Rudolph Allen Drummond, Oakland, Al L. (Michele) Drummond, Doylestown, Tyrone W. (Rose) Drummond, Omaha, and G. Vincent (-Diane) Drummond, Binghamton, N.Y. Seven grandchildren also survive her; her sister Jacqueline E.

(Jesse Curry, Corning, N.Y. as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to call Saturday, July 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Luckner Funeral Home, 449 Park Avenue, Waverly, N.Y. A Memorial Service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held at 3:00 p.m.

Jack "Bucky" Edwards, Jr. of Apalachin Jack "Bucky" Edwards, 77, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2005.

Born on June 17, 1928 in Smithboro, N.Y., Jack was a son of the late Jack and Mabel (VanNatta) Edwards. He was also predeceased by his sister, Katherine (Kate) Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, L. Emily (Hines) Edwards, at home; his daughters, Linda Fairlie, Cynthia (Mitch) Nichols, Apalachin, Bonnie (Bill) Moesch, Owego, Lucinda "Cindy" Edwards, Apalachin, Lucille "-Lucy" (Fred) Bensley, Owego, Connie (Bill) Meyers, sons, Lloyd (Peg) Edwards, Owego, Jack (Betsi) Edwards, Apalachin; and sister, Josephine Truesdail, N.C. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, Wendy Kelly, Brandy Brown, Amanda Shelp, Billy Edwards, Wade Fairlie, Melissa Nichols, Nichole Moesch, Corey Moesch, Jessica Edwards, Erica Bensley, Kari Bensley, Victoria Meyers, Justin Meyers, Emilie Edawrds, Maddie Lopke; nine greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Jack retired from the Apalachin Planning Mill in 1989. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to his old country music, playing rummy with his best friend, Nelson Dillenbeck, and talking about "the good ole days." The family will receive their friends on Friday from 7-9 at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 So. Main Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel.

Russell of Brooksville, Florida Ronald L. Russell, 54, of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of Owego, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Ron was born in Endicott, N.Y. on April 28, 1950, the son of the late Joe Russell and Marion (Ferguson) Russell. Ron was a 1968 graduate of Owego Free Academy.

He also graduated from Broome Community College and Harpur College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era. After serving his country, Ron came back to Owego and was employed as Vice President of Operations for the Weitsman Corporation in Owego before moving to Florida where he worked for the Florida Department of Children and Families prior to his retirement several years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kelly Russell, Palm Bay, Florida; one stepdaughter, Melinda Keesee, Palm Bay; one stepson, Robert Rodkey, Brooksville; and three step grandchildren.

Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Linda Russell, Owego, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Ron was a follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ for most of his life. A Christian memorial service celebrating Ron's life was held in Palm Bay, Florida on April 14, 2005 and graveside services with military honors were held at the Florida National Military Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on April 28, 2005. (Sherwood) Brown of Greene Patricia M. (Sherwood) Brown, age 71, of Greene, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, July 12, 2005. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Edward L. Brown. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Karen Brown, Rush, and Phillip and Carla Brown, Greene; four grandchildren, Anthony Brown and Courtney Walser, Greene, Angela Brown and fiance, Michael Witt, Greene, Sean and Derek Brown, Rush; two great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Tyler Brown, Greene; a brother and sister-in-law, Cy and Sylvia Sherwood, Jacksonville, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Dorothy Brown, Buffalo; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pat was a member of Zion Episcopal Church. After Pat's retirement from Raymond her years were enjoyed with her husband, Ed, in travels to the Adirondacks and gathering with family and friends at their camp on Lake Ludlow. Funeral services will be held 1 1 a.m. Friday at Root Funeral Home with The Very Rev. Ralph E.

Osborne, Rector of her church, officiating. Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene. Friends of the family may call Thursday, 5-9 p.m., at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Greene. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greene Emergency Squad or the American Cancer Society..
