Carleton A. Gordon Of Windsor Carleton A. Gordon, 68, of Windsor, NY died peacefully at 1 1:20 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 1992 at his home after a long illness which he faced with courage, dignity and humor. He was a beloved husband, dad and grandpa.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Betty Gordon, Windsor, a son, Carleton M. Gordon, Vestal; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gail Gordon, Windsor, Barbara and Dean Craig, Owego; three grandchildren whom he loved very much, Jon, Kendra and Michael Craig. He is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Mickey Gordon, Orange City, Arthur and Gloria Gordon, Binghamton; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including special cousins, Helen and Al Mata. Leesburg, Fla.

He was Dr. Thadd Emerson Hall Of Binghamton Dr. Thadd Emerson Hall, 55, of 13 Chadwick Binghamton died January 6, 1992 at Lourdes Hospital after a brave fight in combating a long illness. His spirit has now joined the universe of living spirits. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Ann Hall in 1988.

He is survived by a son, Jameson Jacques Hall, New York City; his mother, Mrs. Susan B. Hall, Fort Dodge, Iowa; two brothers, H. Milo (Mike) Hall, Humboldt, Iowa, Phillip W. Hall, Spirit Lake, Iowa; and numerous very close and special people.

Dr. Hall received his BA at Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa, then he went on to receive his MA and PHD at the University of Minnesota. He started his career teaching History at the University of Minnesota in 1962, he received a Fullbright Scholarship to Paris in 1963, taught History at Ohio State, became an Assistant Professor at Southern Illinois University. Since 1970, he had been a History Professor at the State University of New York at Binghamton. He published a book, France and the 18th Century Corsican Question, and numerous articles in Historial Journals.

In 1989, he received the SUNY Wide Chancellor's Award for Distinguished Teaching and the University Award for Distinguished Teaching. It was teaching that he loved the most, there is music in his soul, and his indomitable spirit touched the lives of many people in various states and abroad. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and the Choir for many years. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 1 1 a.m. at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 83 Main Binghamton with Rev.

Parson Jean (Bette) Schoonover of Vestal Jean (Bette) Schoonover, 63, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 1992, at Robert Packer Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Reese Schoonover, Vestal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Michael Sherwood, Vestal; Deborah Ann and Stephen Falck of Germany; one son and daughter inlaw, David and Teresa Schoonover, Roanoke, nine grandchildren, Nathan Michael, Scott Michael, Nicholas Michael, and Jessica Lynn Sherwood; Cary, Jenny and Kristy Falck; Casey and Cristy Schoonover, one brother, Ralph Scott of Binghamton.

She was a member of the Vestal United Methodist Church, and also an Avon representative. Funeral and interment services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at The Vestal United Methodist Church 328 Main Vestal. Rev. William High-field, Pastor of her Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Coleman and Daniels, H.P. Moat Funeral 765 Main Vestal, N.Y. Lucretia (Atwood) Cacala of Endicott Lucretia (Atwood) Cacala, 52, of Endicott, passed away January 6, 1992 at the Willow Point Nursing Home, where she resided for the past 14 years.

She is survived by her grandmother, Katherine DeGaramo; mother, Emily Niquette; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Louis Vandermark, Endicott; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Sayoko Atwood. Joe and Donna Niquette, several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine (Garruto) Cavallaro and his brothers, Joseph, Armand and Frank Cavallaro. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jack and Mary Cavallaro, Nick and Mary Cavallaro; both of Binghamton; his sister, Anna Lipka, Johnson City; also many nieces and nephews and cousins; also two special friends, Carlo and Filomena Prato, Binghamton. He was a retired employee of Endicott Johnson Corporation; an Army Veteran of WWII; a member of the American Legion, Post No. 758, Johnson City and Blessed Sacrament Church, Johnson City. Charles M. Cook of Binghamton Charles M. Cook, 77, of 20 Johnson Binghamton died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Monday, January 6, 1992 at 12:05 a.m. after a pro longed illness. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Juanita M.

Cook, Binghamton; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jack Denmark, Orlando, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Susan Cook, Nashville, TN, Robert and Carol Meeker, Cary, NC; three grandchildren; several great-grandchidren; one brother and sister-in-law, Henry B. She is survived by her husband, William B. Windsor r. George J. Starley, 69, of West Windsor, entered into Eternal Life, Monday, January 6, 1992 at his home. He was born, April 21, 1922 at McLean N.Y., son of Eldon C. Starley and Mary M.

(Muggleton) Starley, he was predeceased by his son, Gerald Starley; he is survived by his wife, Arlene (Dep-pa) Starley, four daughters and four sons, Mary and John West, Patty and Edward Hahn all of W. Windsor, Margaret and Kathleen Starley of Binghamton, Larry Starley, Denver, CoL, George and Linda Starley, W. Windsor, E. Karcher, 76, of Starlight, died Monday, January 6, 1992 at Binghamton General Hospital. Her husband, Clinton Karcher of Starlight survives; two daughters and one son-in law, Dawn Karcher Possemato, and Ralph Possemato, Hancock, NY, Donna Karcher, Binghamton, NY; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Douglas Karcher, Donald and Jean AnnKarcher, Starlight and Jerrold and Melanie Karcher, Taylor, eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. 1 Mrs. Patricia L. Ketchum, 55, of 199 Day Hollow Road, Owego, N.Y., died Sunday, January 5, 1992, from injuries sustained in a vehicular-pedestrian accident which occurred in the Newark Valley area. Mrs. Ketchum was born and raised in the New Berlin area and attended schools in both Brookfield and New Berlin.

She had lived for several years in the Truxton area and for the last 20 years in the Owego region with her residence on Day Hollow Road for the last 7 years. Mrs. Ketchum had worked for Tusca-rora Plastics in Cortland and the Family and Children Society in Binghamton and recently had worked for the Wade family in the Newark Valley area as a certified health care worker. In the Norwich area she had worked for Berg-las Co. Norwich Shoe Co.

She was a member of the Richford Faith Tabernacle Church and served as a Sunday School Teacher. In addition, she was a member of the Women's Aglow Fellowship International, the local chapter of Topps along with many other organizations. Talented in many crafts, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting as well as baking and cooking for important family functions. She was born September 22, 1 936. in West Win-field, N.Y., a daughter of Stanley Davis and Hazel Laraby Davis.

On October 6, 1962, in Morris, N.Y., she married Clifton Kethcum who survives. Besides her husband, Clifton Ketchum Owego; she is survived by her three sons, Clifton Ketchum Norwich, Robert Ketchum, Owego, and James Lamphere Norwich; one daughter, Barbara Lamphere, Binghamton; her mother, Hazel Davis, Norwich; a life long best friend, Lucille Chambers, New Berlin; two brothers, Alfred Davis, Rome, N.Y. and Wayne Davis, Calhoun, four sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Barbara) Huffine, Norwich, Mrs. Ken- neth (Arlene) Noble, Binghamton, Mrs.

William (Maxine) Nesbitt, Norwich, Mrs. Charles (Mary Jane) Lockwood, Norwich; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, as well as 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, Justin, also survive. Her father, Stanley Davis died August 15, 1990. Funeral services for Mrs. Ketchum will be held on Friday at 1 1 a.m.

Lown, 73, died Monday evening January 6, 1992 at the Vestal Nursing Center. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-laws, Robert and Florence Lown, Johnson City, Barbara Hill, Catatonk; and also several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Choconut Center United Methodist Church, a retired employee of the Endicott Jonnson Shoe Corp. with 40 years of service. Funeral services will be held at the J.F.

Fisher; and a stepdaughter, Janice S. Petrolawicz. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor R. Fisher, Endwell; his beloved step-children, James T. Converse, Endwell; and Lynda G.

Greenlee, Binghamton; a son, Wayne C. Fisher, Binghamton; seven step-grandchildren, Nick and Mark Millard, Cynthia Johnson, Michael Petrolawicz, Charles, Brian and Timothy Fish; one aunt, Ruth Fisher, and several cousins. He was a charter member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Endwell, a retired employee ot the IBM tndicott, with T) years of service, and a member of its Quarter Century Club. He was a graduate of Girard College, Philadelphia, and Massachusetts Diesel College. He was a life and active member of O.L.

John Goosley, Jr. of Binghamton John (Jake) Goosley, 57, of 131 Beethoven passed away Friday morning, January 3, 1992 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, after an illness. He is survived by his wife, Judy Carner Goosley. He was born in Taylor, son of the late John and Mary Mar-kovitch Goosley.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Also surviving are two sons, Daniel and Jeffrey; two daughters, Francine and Callie, all of Aberdeen, Washington; three brothers, Gene Goosley, Old Forge, Robert Goosley, Clarks Summit, and James Goosley, Fayetteville, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Anne Pacholec, Taylor, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, William and Gina Howe, Jim and Delores Howe, Endicott, Ronnie and Lisa Howe, Binghamton, Robert and Betsy Howe, Binghamton; six grandchildren; one sister, Camilla Dudnow, Johnson City; one brother, Frank Ozelek, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

1, passed away Monday, January 6, 1992 at Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital, Binghamton, following a brief illness. She was born on July 1 1, 1905 in Dushore, the daughter of the late Henry B. and Ella Rose Minier. Mrs. Shaffer was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Shaffer in 1968; and one grandson, Martin, in 1987.

She is survived by two sons, George F. and Eve Shaffer, Vestal, John E. and Lois Shaffer, Friendsville, two brothers, Emerson R. Minier, Horseheads, NY, John Minier, Dushore RD, four grandchildren, Karl, Brenda, David, John four greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Zion Chapel, Dushore, and was a lifetime resident of Sullivan County, Pa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 1992 at 10:00 a.m. in the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Zion Chapel, Dushore, with the Rev. Richard A. Reeser, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain Ash Cemetery, Laporte, Pa.

He is predeceased by a daughter, Linda Kapczynski. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Chapman Kapczynski, Binghamton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Joseph Santacroce, Jean and Dr. Sury Putcha, all of Binghamton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Cheryl Kapczynski, Endicott, William and Jacqueline Kapczynski, Carson City, six grandchildren, Vincent and Diane Santacroce, Peter Putcha, Steve, Sara and Andrew Kapczynski. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church Binghamton.

He was a retired Pharmacist from Carls Drug Store and L.F. Hamlin Drug Co. He was a graduate of the University of Buffalo and was a member of the Broome County Pharmaceutical Society. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Funeral services will be held at the J.A.

Gaige, Chenango Bridge; a son, Henry Morlando, Petersburg, FL; a brother, Frank Mara-no, Harpursville; a daughter-in-law, Mary Morlando; a son-in-law, Arnold Gaige; 13 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Heather Robinson; also several nieces and nephews.
