Union strike at upstate NY chemical plant enters 4th week WATERFORD- A strike by hundreds of union workers at an upstate New York chemical plant is now into its fourth week. Some 700 members of an IUE-CWA local walked off the job earlier this month at Momentive Performance Materials in the Saratoga County town of Waterford, on the Hudson River north of Albany. The union went on strike after contract talks failed over the plans to cut in health insurance and other benefits. Police say officers were called to a house on Wellington Avenue around 7 a.m. Friday. Officers say both victims were adults. Family members at the scene of the shooting tell local media outlets that the victims were a mother and her 18-year-old daughter. Police released the names or details of the shooting.

Officers say there were several children inside the home at the time of the shooting. Police say no danger to the public. Baby born in car amid Thanksgiving traffic on NY highway YONKERS, N.Y. As many Americans hit the road on Thanksgiving, one baby wait to join them. Firefighters were called to help a woman in labor in acar on a suburban New York highway Thursday.

But the baby was born before they got there six minutes later. It happened around 2 p.m. on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers, just north of New York City. Fire Lt. Peter Connelly tells The Journal News the woman gave birth in the reclined front seat of an SUV.
